Legal Insurance

Overview

UltimateAdvisor® legal insurance from ARAG offers you affordable, reliable counsel when something in life turns into a legal issue, like a dispute with a contractor, a traffic ticket or the need for estate planning. Attorney fees for most covered legal matters are 100% paid in full when you work with a Network Attorney, which means you’ll avoid paying high-cost attorney fees. It’s like having an attorney on retainer whenever you have a question or need guidance regarding a legal matter.

The plan gives you the flexibility to choose which level of legal coverage and services works best for your situation. For as little as $14.50 per month for UltimateAdvisor Base or $23.44 per month for UltimateAdvisor Plus, you can enroll in either plan and have a place to turn to for help, with access to a nationwide network of attorneys who will:

  • Work with you in-person, over the phone or online to consult with you on legal issues.
  • Review or prepare documents.
  • Make follow-up calls or write letters on your behalf.
  • Represent you if needed.

The legal plan provides access to a network of participating attorneys to provide services, including:

  • Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning
  • Family Law (name change, adoption, divorce)
  • Consumer Protection Issues (auto repair, consumer fraud)
  • Criminal Matters (juvenile matters, habeas corpus)
  • Debt-Related Matters (bankruptcy, credit records)
  • Landlord/Tenant Matters (contracts, security deposits)
  • And more!

    • Legal services arising out of a business interest, investment interests, employment matters, employee benefits, your role as an officer or director of an organization, and patents or copyrights.

Pre-existing matters: If you have already hired the services of an attorney, a legal action has been filed or any actual or alleged violations of either party's rights has occurred, you are not eligible for paid-in-full coverage. However, as a plan member, you are eligible to receive telephone legal advice for non-excluded matters from a network attorney as well as reduced fee benefits for in-office legal services of at least 25 percent off their normal rate.
